Tridelta-Meidensha: Surge Arresters and Cloud-based Monitoring

Surge Arresters and Cloud-based Monitoring

2023 has seen a real increase in demand for Tridelta surge arresters in the UK market. If the name is not familiar to you, Tridelta is a specialist surge arrester manufacturer based in Germany with over 100 years of experience in the market. Tridelta designs and manufactures high-quality arresters from 1kV to 800kV from their factory in Hermsdorf. Their products are used in over 120 countries worldwide and are proven in the most extreme climatic conditions.

Manufacturing in Germany has the advantage of bringing down lead times compared to manufacturers from further afield, and many UK customers have profited from the faster lead times, competitive pricing, and more flexible minimum order quantities. Tridelta arresters have been approved for use by several UK operators for many years with further approvals in progress, and we are already included in several supply frameworks.

They also offer a market-leading and innovative condition monitoring solution for surge arresters, providing advance warning of arrester degradation. This solution is manufacturer-agnostic and has been proven in the field under extreme conditions, helping operators avoid costly downtime.

Operators using Tridelta’s equipment include Scottish Power, SSE, NIE and recently National Grid. A four-arrester arrangement was recently supplied at 45kV, gaining type registration and supporting project lead times. Tridelta are Framework holders up to 400kV with National Grid.

If you have any surge arrester requirements on your existing or upcoming projects, please get in touch and we will be delighted to help.
