New Products in PACE Networks Stocks
PACE Networks began stocking and distributing rail electrification products in 2018 and is constantly reviewing the range of components and sub-systems held in our warehouse. Bonomi-Rebosio has a range of UK-approved insulators and underbridge arms and has worked with PACE to increase UK stock levels, supporting enhancements, renewals and maintenance programs. PACE Networks is also able to source a wide range of electrification materials and welcomes all enquiries.
Pear Pac Enhances Isolation Teams’ Work Environment
PACE Networks are now stocking and selling the innovative Pear Pac to teams taking isolations of electrified railways. The first teams to secure their Pear Pacs are finding that as well as fulfilling the primary function of the device – to avoid injuries, the comfort of carrying equipment hands-free means they are free to focus on the task at hand, speeding up isolations and improving safety around the work. The Pear Pac features a well-padded, adjustable backpack and an adjoining plate with mounted prongs for securing flexible earths and RoLE boards. Contact PACE today to secure your allocation.
UK Master Series Drawings Drafted for Omnia Station Platform and TTC
Draft drawings have been prepared for two new versions of Omnia, ready for inclusion in UKMS. The drawings of the already approved Station Platform include reach ranges from 2000mm to 7200mm and feature insulators mounted in the catenary support and registration tube. The Omnia TTC, which is currently going through the product approval process, takes the concept further with 2-station platform cantilevers reaching over a 2-track railway, increasing speed and reducing costs over a traditional TTC. Both drawings will need reviewing by a technical authority, but we hope the station platform drawing can be added early in 2024, and potentially the TTC soon after.
New Heights and Stagger Gauges Available for Demonstration
A number of UK maintenance and project teams have recently seen a demo of the new Digital Heights & Stagger Gauges. Feedback has highlighted an improvement in terms of robustness, with features such as a protective distometer housing, its aluminium and composite material body, and a self-repair kit to combat slippage, all contributing to its increased longevity of accuracy.
Digital Heights & Stagger Gauges have options for improved user experience such as a tablet for rapid data entry, a colour screen camera, and the ability to take all readings from a standing position due to a cant display on the upright.
These gauges all have product approval and are currently in stock at the PACE Warehouse; if you are looking for gauges that stay in calibration longer, offer greater ease of use and a rapid calibration service, please get in touch to organise a demonstration at your workplace.
New Partner: PEAR PAC
The latest addition to PACE Networks offering for rail overhead line teams is the invaluable Pear Pac.
This health and safety device not only reduces trip hazards, improves worker carrying loads, and avoids injuries to staff, but it also speeds up the process of taking an isolation, with hands now free for gates and balance. Behind the development of the patented Pear Pac was the in-depth knowledge of UK isolation teams, well versed in the challenges of flexible earths over the shoulder hitting shins and knees and RoLE boards cutting hands.
The new Pear Pac, so called for the shape of the cables when applied, features a well-padded and adjustable backpack, and an adjoining plate with mounted prongs. These are shaped to allow easy wrapping of flexible earths, and attachment of RoLE boards and other OLE equipment. Carrying this equipment on a linesperson’s back greatly reduces any risk of injury, increases comfort, lowers fatigue, and speeds up the isolation process.
“We are pleased to add this to our OLE low level surveying tools. The health and safety of workers is of utmost importance, and Pear Pac’s ability to reduce workplace injuries whilst increasing productivity is invaluable.” Sam Roberts, Business Development Director Rail, PACE Networks.
