New Product – Bonomi Smart Insulator

Bonomi Smart Insulator

A New Revolution in Maintenance of Electrified Lines with IoT Technology

Bonomi Rebosio have just announced the launch of their latest composite insulator – Smart Insulator.

The Smart Insulator uses IoT technology, self-powered by energy harvesting, to diagnose the status of the insulator and communicate the information back via the cloud. The IoT module uses LoRa and an edge gateway, in compliance with international cyber security standards.

By using IoT technology it is now possible to create digital twins of pylons. Through a customizable dashboard, you can monitor status and any anomalies in the insulators and lines on which the insulators are installed in real time. Infrastructure management systems are then able to process the data received and plan for preventative maintenance. Rebosio insulators are known for their reliability, but by including additional smart technology, insulator lifespans can be extended, and service disruptions kept to an absolute minimum.
